Jets star Horvath was cleared fit to play but board still wasn’t risking him

It seems the Manawatu Jets basketball board were spooked in culling Nick Horvath from their playing roster. They were scared off by legal advice that each director could allegedly be liable if  Horvath’s bung knee imploded and he sued them. The action flabbergasted many Manawatu basketball fans, let alone the other Jets players who demanded to meet the board.

They were told Horvath was a medical liability and  he was cut as a player. We know it wasn’t done to save money because he was offered a pseudo-coaching paid role.
