Runners raise Rs 4 crore for charity

BENGALURU: Age is just a number when it comes to raising funds for charity. Hundreds of individuals, aged 10 to 76, have raised more than Rs 4 crore for this year’s TCS World 10K Bengaluru from causes varying from disability to human rights.

“I’ve raised Rs 13.5 lakh,” said 10-year-old Aum Desai. “My grandmother Pramila, the oldest fundraiser at 76, has raised Rs 5 lakh, my brother Rs 6.5 lakh and my uncle Rs 1 lakh,” he added about his family’s contribution who are collecting funds for Shrimad, an NGO that works in the field of education.
