BENGALURU: Hard things are put in our way, not to stop us, but to call out our courage and strength.” This saying by Victor Hugo is true of Ajruna Award winner and paralympian Madasu Srinivas Rao who had a fall during the TCS World 10K event on Sunday. But nothing stopped him from completing the run.
The award-winning badminton player Rao lost his balance near Vidhana Soudha and sustained injuries on his knees. The first-aid team was soon at the scene and Rao was back on track in no time. He was part of the category — ‘Champions with Disability’ — that stole the show. More than 5,000 differently abled, including visually challenged and the hearing impaired, participated in the event.
