Disabled roll coloured leather balls in the ‘Boss’ of all games

CHENNAI: While you were getting ready to go out on Saturday night, Vidya Sagar School saw 10-15 people come together to play Boccia.
The sport, which is related to bowls and petanque, has competitors with motor disabilities throwing and rolling coloured leather balls to see who can get closest to a white “jack”. Originally designed as a game for people with cerebral palsy, the sport is one of the flagships of the Paralympic Games. It’s interesting to know that the word ‘Boccia’ was derived from Latin, and means ‘boss’.
