Two-day camp to give free aid to disabled

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today exhorted the people suffering from physical disabilities, especially the ones from the weaker sections of the society, to take maximum benefit from the ongoing two-day special assessment camps being held at Red Cross Bhawan.
The Deputy Commissioner said the two-day camp would prove to be boon for people in getting artificial limbs. He said maximum people should avail the benefits of this camp organised by the District Red Cross Society in cooperation with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India. Sharma said in the camp a team of experts were assessing the extent of disability of the people and preparing a report for distributing artificial limbs, hearing aids, wheel chair, Braille cane to the needy and poor, free of cost.
