NSS volunteers to audit public infrastructure for disabled

CHANDIGARH: As part of an endeavour of the UT administration to make Chandigarh first disabled- friendly city, NSS Volunteers from Panjab University launched their access audit survey from the office of the vice-chancellor.
Programme coordinator Dr Navdeep Sharma said, “Accessibility has been one of the most neglected issues in the disability sector. Disabled persons in India remain confined to their homes, as attempts to travel, enter buildings, parks and shops can be unsafe and personally humiliating.
